WHAT WE DO
Bodo Evangelical Lutheran Church Council is the Supreme Legislative and administrative body of the Bodo Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Bodo Evangelical Lutheran Church takes care of the holistic ministry for the Lost, Poor and Forgotten People in the urban and rural pockets of North Eastern India since its inception in 1970. In serving the needs of the most people we take the gospel to the people and make them understand that they need a savior Jesus Christ for their eternal Peace and Salvation.. BELC is also committed to provide a platform for children to develop themselves, and compete with those from the affluent strata of society. While we aim to develop these children and youths into responsible and fulfilled adults, we envisage a day when one of these children will become a leader in his or her respective community. Our work for lost people is accomplished through the child development centers, created to facilitate holistic development of children by nurturing them in their physical, educational, social and economic areas. We implement holistic child development through our core programs as in the Child Survival Program and for the youth as well as women empowerment Program.
Bodo Evangelical Lutheran Church (BELC) is noneprofit Church Organization established in 1970 with a small number of believers. She covers mostly from West Bengal to Dhemaji (Assam) and other parts of India. We are registered under the societies Act. XXI of 1860, the Regd. No 245 of 1972-1973 on 17/03/1973.
BELC has the great Vision to lead its own "BODO" people to Christ and become a channel of blessing to the Bodo people and that is why the Church was born in 1970 by carrying a great vision under the leadership of Lt Rev. Mohindra Narzary and his team.
The Bodo evangelical Lutheran Church story began in 1970 by the Lt Rev. MohindraNarzary, a young Pastor who was deeply moved by his spirit having experiences of being left out and felt that the Santal Leaders did not care much to the Bodo Christian even though the Bodo are very active in every aspect.
BELC believe and obey the Great Commission which the Christ has given to the Church and to fulfill that the Mission has been taken as follows:
1.To provide spiritual needs in every way to tell all members by preaching the words of God and administering sacrament.
2. To widen the kingdom of Christ through Evangelistic effort and promote Christian literature with a view to differ using useful knowledge among the people within the jurisdiction of this church.
